If you've looked around my gallery you may have noticed I have a high regard for the artist Brandon McKinney
. Not only is he incredibly skilled and talented and nice, he's also psychic, apparently.
He recently started doing 'quickie commissions' again (go and check out his gallery!) and I had to have another one. I just asked for something romantic featuring PinUp Girl and her fella, Proud Citizen. Like the genius he is, he came back with this idea--an idea PC's player and I have been wanting done for some time. And now here it is.
Brandon took the pose from Alfred Eisenstaedt's iconic photo taken on V-J Day in Times Square, which was used as the cover of Life
magazine on August 27, 1945. The original image, of a sailor kissing a nurse, really sums up the exuberance of the day. Brandon not only drew the clinch, he generously recreated the photo in this awesome piece. I just love it. Maybe it's a shot of the original WWII PC and PG circa 1945.
Thank you, Brandon! I bow to your artistic prowess as well as your mind-reading ability.
